What Our Attendees Say About CP
Teva Pharmaceuticals has
historically supported Congress for
Progress, sending its Supply Chain
practitioners to the conferences for
several years. It has always been a
highly anticipated event for us. The
networking opportunities are
abundant and have often proven
fruitful both from a professional
standpoint as well as personally. CP
has facilitated our being exposed to
new concepts and ideas both from the
instructors and also the peers we
interact with. I have been able to
solve problems I'm working on at
work by "picking the brain" of a
particular presenter. They have
always made themselves available
after the sessions, and also long
afterwards through email.

The field of supply chain management
is constantly evolving, and staying
abreast of the latest practices and
processes in the field is critical
for success. The topics covered in
the focus clinics of CP 33 were
relevent and the instructors
provided practical insight into how
the key concepts are applied in
practical settings. Having the
benefit of discussing application of
these concepts with other supply
chain professionals helps to
facilitate thought and ideas for
best incorporating what is learned
into ones business. Congress for
Progress provides an opportunity for
one to step outside of the daily
demands of their role to learn and
think about ways to enhance their
contributions in the workplace.

The Hershey Company
Kalas Manufacturing Inc, one of the
countries largest wire and cable
producers, is a growing company
focused on developing supply chain
partnerships with our customers and
vendors. As Materials Manager for
Kalas, I have found the APICS
educational and networking
opportunities to be a valuable tool
in the development of that focus in
my department. A few years ago Kalas
dedicated the time and resources for
15 members of our key supply chain
associates from Materials,
Purchasing, Planning and Scheduling,
to come together for all 5 of the
CPIM Certification modules. Classes
were given on site at one of the
Kalas facilities. This unique
opportunity allowed the instructor
to personalize the sessions to our
actual manufacturing environment,
giving all of us a better
understanding of how we function
together within the supply chain.
Taking the certification modules and
attending Congress for Progress is a
great way to benchmark with other
companies. A lot of creative ideas
develop from the interactive
discussions and sessions. CP32
offered workshops on the topics that
are affecting “world class”
companies today. The sessions were
informative and fun, with real hands
on experience. Everyone benefits
from the networking opportunities
that allow you to meet people in
your same position who are facing
some of the same challenges.
I am looking forward to CP33 to see
what new innovative ideas we can all
share.

It was a great symposium!! A lot on
learning, outstanding speakers and
presentations. I already reported
back to the DLT (Dover Leadership
Team) on key takeaways, learning
experiences, and suggestions for the
plant and next steps. Looking
forward to attend next years CP31 in
Baltimore. My co-workers are
interested in participating next
year as well. Thanks again to the
Congress for Progress, Congress for
Progress committee members,
attendees, and facilitators for
doing a wonderful job.
Sincerely,

was very pleased with the format.
Fortunately you had a core session
around what I was interested in
(SO&P) which may be swaying my
thinking - but I had conversation
with other folks attending different
core sessions and they were pleased
as well. You also had several mini
sessions around this core session
that were very well done.
The core session was long enough to
get everyone involved and share
their personal experiences. The
instructor was great. It was also
long enough to really cover the
topic well.
Unfortunately I did not attend the
fun activities. If I did I would
have even been more enthusiastic.

"Sales and Operations Planning:
Developing a Process That Works" did
everything outlined in the Congress
for Progress brochure. The intensive
two-day workshop with student
exercises, workbooks, and examples
of actual schedules was well worth
the money.
I especially liked the way the
workbook was laid out, space
provided for notes, Glossary of Key
Terms, and outline of the overall
lesson plans ( I could see where we
were going and therefore hold my key
questions for the appropriate
lesson). The depth of the workshop
was excellent, down to the Master
Scheduling / Detail Planning level
and including Performance
Measurements and Corrective Actions.
The workshop was a mini refresher
course for all those ideas and
principles that I had learned many
years ago for my initial CPIM
certification. Additionally this was
my first exposure to MS Excel's
Solver Function............. what a
tool! I look forward to next year's
Congress for Progress.

“Who knew that everyone from the CEO
of his own company to the material
planner next door could come
together and exchange opinions,
thoughts and theory on such a level
playing field?… I have never seen a
more personable, energetic and
highly informative instructor in my
career. I don’t even think I had
college professors with this much
knowledge and understanding. Thank
you to the staff and instructors for
a wonderful and enlightening two
days. I look forward to the chance
to be able to attend CP31. At least
this time I won’t have to wear the
“First Conference” badge anymore.
