Focus Clinic: Supplier Relationship Management

Presented by: Ray Barger, CSCP, CIRM

Date: Thursday, April 24, 2008

Time: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Today’s supplier relationships have moved from a must win to a win/win proposition. Learning to be a better customer is aligned as equivalent to having better suppliers. Collaboration and metrics are key approaches that enhance value while reducing non-value added expenses. Today’s continuum has moved from the supplier being a vendor, to a traditional supplier, to a certified supplier, to a partnership, and all the way to a strategic alliance for a select few of your key suppliers. Using recognized best practices in supplier relationship management, learn how clearly stating expectations and establishing key metrics with critical suppliers improves overall value proposition and increases your competitive advantage as a supplier to your customer base. The workshop component of this session will provide attendees with and opportunity to use collaboration tools to develop or enhance their scorecard metrics for use with their suppliers.

After this clinic you will be able to:

  • Develop Balanced Scorecard (BSC) Criteria
  • Segment and Weight BSC Criteria
  • Implement Metrics Based BSC’s with Key Suppliers
  • Apply Affinity, Multi-Voting, and Mitigation Tools for Business Results
