Focus Clinic: Reverse Logistics
Presented by: Michael Blumberg, CMC

Date: Thursday, April 24, 2008

Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon

Reverse logistics is an approach to become environmentally more conscious while at the same time reducing unnecessary expenses in a holistic supply chain approach. The clinic will decompose your supplier to consumer value chains so that reuse/refurbish and minimization become core values of your business processes. This approach has shown value to better understanding the current state of logistics and extends down the demand chain through to the consumption of the materials. Higher cost of energy and the growing cost of packaging and product disposal will reveal new opportunities for more customer value while at the same time increasing logistics value and reducing container and packaging expenses. The recommended approach begins with the basic development of the offering. It is an integrated business effort involving all functions to drive higher customer satisfaction through reducing customer’s replacement/disposal costs.

After this clinic you will be able to:

  • Define processes & controls for managing Reverse Logistics
  • Identify value and cost drivers in the Reverse Logistics Supply
  • Utilize Reverse Logistics processes to improve quality of aftermarket warranty programs
  • Convert financial liabilities into assets
  • Utilize Reverse Logistics programs to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty
