Focus Clinic:
Empowering People for Lean
Presented by: Larry Baker
Date: Thursday, April 24, 2008
Time: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Because a Lean Transformation is totally dependent upon the involvement
and dedication of all employees in the organization, this session will focus
on how to get each employee to embrace a “continuous improvement”
philosophy. Empowering employees with that new responsibility can be a
dramatic culture shift and is a long-term journey. Participants will learn
successful ways to empower employees to implement flow, identify and remove
waste, and increase value to the customer in the areas of quality, cost, and
delivery.
This session will cover some basic lean implementation tools, such as using
the PDCA problem-solving process, team kaizen events, and systems thinking.
By using these basic “building blocks,” participants will also learn how to
lead a natural progression from thinking lean to living lean by empowering
and energizing their workforce to accomplish their lean objectives.
