Steven Covey’s book The Seven Habits of Highly
Effective People is a global business classic. His son, Stephen M. R. Covey,
and his book The Speed of Trust will soon have a place on your business book
shelf.
In this important work, Covey builds the business case for trust. The
conventional wisdom is that trust is a "soft" virtue. Covey believes “trust
is a hard edged economic driver because it always addresses speed and cost.”
When trust increases, speed increases, and costs decline.
Covey believes that trust is a key leadership competency in the new global
economy. Trust is needed to acquire and keep customers, create and maintain
community, and inspire and retain team members.
In this presentation, we’ll use interactive exercises and brainstorming to
outline methods for incorporating the speed of trust into your supply chain
relationships and into your everyday life.
After this clinic you will be able to:
- Develop a business relevant understanding of how trust increases
both speed and profits
- Choose to make trust an explicit behavior of your work as a
leader.
- Recognize the fact that trust is the key to your personal growth
and your enterprise's profitability
