complexity related to navigating a product through the global supply chain,
there is plenty of opportunity in the global market.
During this session, Jim Cafone will discuss:
- Building the best strategy to ensure visibility for the entire
life cycle of the product through various types of markets
- Effectively minimizing risk through visibility as products are
shipped and transported globally
- Developing close collaboration with channel partners, vendors
and distribution network to increase visibility and transparency
Jim Cafone
Mr. Cafone is responsible for all aspects of product movement, storage,
and order management activities for the Wyeth Global Pharmaceutical
business. In addition, Mr Cafone ensures the supply base (including 3rd
parties transportation and distribution providers) meet the approved
strategies and the overall operational and business objectives of the global
corporation. He is responsible for the sourcing of over $200 M worth of
logistical services.
Previous to this position, Mr. Cafone was the Vice President – Technical
Operations & Product Supply; Europe, Middle East, and Africa residing in the
United Kingdom (2004 – 2007). In this position, Jim directed the
manufacturing and supply chain function for the Europe, Middle East, and
Africa. He managed four manufacturing sites with a staff of eighteen hundred
personnel and a $750M operating budget. This position directly supported the
sales of over $4.0 B worth of products for the pharmaceutical, over the
counter, vaccines, and biopharmaceutical business units.
