Focus Clinic:  Collaboration (3PL Networks)

Presented by: Barry Gay

Date: Friday, April 17, 2009

Time: 1:45 PM - 3:00 PM

After attending this presentation participants should walk away with an understanding of why customers outsource, a full understanding of the need for collaboration with third-party (3pl) partners. Studies, evidenced by real world experiences, reveal that collaboration between companies and their third-party logistics (3PLs) is one of those areas for which both sides of the equation see benefits — but the application of the idea turns out to be a lot harder than the theory. The presentation will define just what collaboration between a client and 3PL really is. We will review the potential benefits from improved collaboration with 3PLs and discuss what the barriers are to collaboration between the client and their third-party logistics (3PL). We will close in looking at ways that we can be creative in moving past the barriers to gain the benefits of collaboration.
