Call For Papers
Congress for Progress invites proposals for future presentations and workshops in the field of Operations Management and Supply Chain Management.  The conference format consists of several concurrent four hour Focus Clinics followed by concurrent 8 hour Workshops.

Our focus is on Experiential Learning where the participant has an opportunity to learn, question, touch, play with, and understand the application of principles and techniques in the real world.  Through this intensive, interactive learning, attendees will acquire practical knowledge that can be implemented back at work to best leverage the know-how acquired at Congress for Progress.

If you are interested in being considered, please submit the following:

  • A one page abstract
  • Contact information: name, company, address, phone, fax, e-mail, address
  • Biographical sketch
  • Recent presentation experience with references including contacts

Topic and speaker selection takes place during the second quarter of the year prior to the conference.  Speakers will receive complementary conference registration, as well as reimbursement for hotel and travel expenses.  Selected speakers will be expected to supply the following key items:

June – (all speakers)

  • Speaker Contact information
  • Presentation/workshop title
  • Abstract / Benefits and Learning Objectives
  • High resolution digital color photo

Fall – (Workshop facilitators only)

  • A detailed lesson plan
  • Draft of workbook and associated PowerPoint
  • 500-1000 word abstract of workshop

February – (all speakers)

  • Focus Clinics: a 3-6 page detailed write up of the talk for the conference Proceedings
  • Workshops: a comprehensive workbook for printing and a 2 to 3 page Executive Overview of points covered and conclusions/insights gained for the conference Proceedings.

 

Since its founding in 1976 as the original regional APICS conference, Congress for Progress has been successful year-after-year because its sole mission is to provide a wide variety of leading edge topics and techniques to its attendees. Congress for Progress is a non-profit organization totally run by volunteers interested in providing first-class educational seminars and learning opportunities. It is a cooperative effort by representatives from the Mid-Atlantic chapters of APICS -- Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
